High-Speed Ohio Chase Ends In Meth Lab BustDEA agents in white biohazard suits are spending Thursday inside of a Hamilton County, Ohio barn, combing through what they say is one of the most sophisticated meth labs they've seen.
Cincinnati, v Police undercover offices were watching activity at a barn in North Bend, Ohio Thursday morning when two men got into what Ohio police thought was a stolen car and left the barn.
The operation quickly turned into a high-speed chase as police pursued the suspects on River Road towards downtown Cincinnati, Ohio.
The suspects crashed the 1997 Ford Probe into a tree at Fairbanks and were subsequently arrested with the help of Hamilton County, Ohio Sheriff's deputies.
The driver, Robert Pflug, 25, of Batavia, is charged with fleeing and eluding, a 3rd degree felony, and receiving stolen property, a 4th degree felony. He was also arrested on two felony warrants.
The car was traced and identified as stolen out of Circleville, Ohio.
The passenger, Joseph Woods, of Seaman, was arrested on an outstanding warrant for breaking and entering, a 5th degree felony.
Police said Woods and Pflug will face additional charges stemming from the meth lab discovery.
When police returned to the barn later Thursday morning, they said they found evidence of what they say is the county's largest meth lab discovery.
The barn, off of North Bend Road, is located about 200 yards away from Rainbow Daycare Center, which is set to open next week with anywhere from 85 to 135 kids.
"You have a daycare center; that is particularly troubling to me. Methamphetamine is an intense, highly addictive substance which is dangerous to the public," said Jim Shroba of the Drug Enforcement Agency.
"It totally blows me away. I heard nothing about it and had no idea," said the manager of the daycare center.
DEA agents are removing removing container after container of ether, chlorine and other chemicals, looking through each container one at a time to make sure the chemicals don't mix and cause explosions.
